My 1st Rolf’s Salon Experience

Rolf's Salon ExperienceI’m standing at home in my bathroom trying to style my hair and realize I need to use a blow dryer.  This is the turning point for me, because I don’t normally use a hair dryer.  I wear my hair short, and once I have to spend more time than I want or am willing to spend styling my hair, it’s time to get it cut.

I am a fairly adventurous person and am usually up for just about anything.  But like the next person I’m also slightly tied to my looks, and being a woman with short hair, I want to make sure I have a good stylist.

On May 12th I headed into Rolf’s Salon, at The Shops at Gainey Village, for the first time to get my hair highlighted and cut.  I was promptly assigned and introduced to Emerald, my new stylist; I was a little nervous.  Was she going to highlight my hair right?  Was she going to give me a good cut?  Was I going to like the finished product?  If not, what do I do?  I just kept telling myself the stylists at this salon have been trained by one of the top stylists in the world; a highly sought after gentleman named Rolf Lohse.

When I walked into Rolf’s at Gainey, I felt like I was stepping into something that was going to be an experience.  I was greeted with a welcoming smile, and the beautiful women waiting and leaving were all so happy.  They were taking a moment to pamper themselves and it showed.

Emerald offered me something to drink, and as she prepared my ice water with lemon she made small talk to further welcome me.  We then proceeded to the changing room to allow me to change into a robe.

Once we sat down she carefully listened to what I was looking for in my style.  We discussed what she would do, and she even brought over a master colorist to confirm her strategy for highlighting my hair.  This confirmation reassured me so I was confident I was in good hands, and couldn’t wait until I saw the finished product; I knew I was going to love it.

There is something magical about going to get my hair done.  I always feel so refreshed, renewed, vibrant, and sassy.  And as Emerald worked diligently on my hair, time flew by.  We talked about my family, her family, life, the choices we make—you name it, but she consistently made sure I was happy with the cut.  I couldn’t have been happier; I absolutely loved it.

I think Stylists have such an interesting job; not only are they working their craft, they are constantly building communication skills.  I mean think about how many different people they work very closely with for hours at a time.  The stylists at Rolf’s are truly gifted in so many ways.

One of my favorite things about a hair cut is the shampooing experience, and at Rolf’s the scalp massage you receive during your shampoo is amazing!  There is just something so relaxing about having your scalp massaged by someone else.

As Emerald was styling my hair and putting finishing products in it a woman got out of her chair to walk over to tell me that she thought my style was fun & beautiful.  Confirmation once again.  As I was checking out another woman did the same.  It’s awesome when you find a salon where not only the staff is happy but so are all of the customers.

She shook my hand and thanked me for coming in.  I thanked her for a wonderful experience, and let her know that she and Rolf’s have a new raving fan.  I wholeheartedly recommend Emerald, and am willing to bet that since all of the stylists are trained by Rolf himself, you’ll find a stylist that you would love too.  Going to Rolf’s Salon is a truly awesome experience.
